ACCBiker:

Why not just call them?

That's a really good question. It cuts to the heart of this suggestion. For me, the answer is that the Web site method is a lot more public--both for the reporters of problems and for the fixers of them. The public-ness of it is an important feature: it gives citizens a more tangible way to report something, and it gives the government fixers a public way to respond and better show their work. And, on both sides, accountability is enhanced. You don't get that with phone calls.

Good suggestion about changing who gets the email alerts. I'll look into changing that--or suggesting that change.

Why not just call them?

E-mails should go to someone in Transportation and Public Works. Besides, the top executive is the county manager and not the mayor since we have the weak-mayor form of government.
